Modern life has become increasingly hectic, with many demands from all directions. Our minds are constantly busy. We are controlled by our thoughts, emotions and habitual patterns. This can lead to automatic reactions and unhelpful decisions, which cause unhappiness and stress, mental and physical health issues. By being ‘somewhere else’ in our head, we miss out on our children growing up; we miss out on the beauty of life.

Mindfulness training helps us to live in the present moment, to free ourselves from the grasp of negative thoughts, to meet our experiences with kindness, curiosity and skills. Daily practice helps to generate happiness, calm, appreciation, insights, healing, compassion and wellbeing.

I have greatly benefited from my daily meditation practice since 1994. I wanted to share the benefits of mindfulness with others so I completed a mindfulness teacher training with Bangor and Oxford Universities in the UK and have been running MBSR courses since 2014.
